Les Franqueses del Vallès has registered significant improvements in waste management since the implementation of new semi-closed bins, doubling organic collection and drastically reducing residual waste.

The objective of increasing the recycling rate to meet European Union minimums is being achieved in Les Franqueses del Vallès. Initial data confirm a notable increase in organic matter collection and other recyclable fractions, while residual waste has been reduced. Figures from May-August 2026 already surpass those for the entire year 2025 in several aspects.
Specifically, organic matter has gone from 11.1% in 2025 to 23.8% in this 2026 period. Paper/cardboard and glass have improved from 10.9% to 18.1%, and light packaging has increased from 5.4% to 16.3%. Conversely, residual waste has decreased significantly, from 72.6% in 2025 to 41.8% in the first months of 2026.
Despite the good results, the City Council reminds citizens of the importance of having the access card for the bins to continue improving figures. Approximately 94% of cards have been distributed, but around 700 households have not yet collected theirs. To facilitate this, the Citizen Service (SAC) offices in Corró d'Avall (ctra. de Ribes, 2) and Bellavista (c. Rosselló, 39) will remain open Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
