The Les Franqueses del Vallès City Council and producers have decided to move the 'Mongeta del Ganxet' Festival and the Local Production Week to January. The Week will be held from January 11th to 16th, while the Festival will take place on January 17th.
This change of dates has been made primarily due to delays in the harvest, caused by high temperatures and a prolonged summer. The late arrival of autumn has slowed the growth of the bean plants, extending the harvesting, threshing, and drying tasks. Furthermore, the call for elections on the original date also influenced the decision.
The Local Production Week has also been adapted to the new calendar to maintain its connection with the 'mongeta del ganxet', considered the most prized local product of Les Franqueses.
