The Martorelles City Council approved on Monday, October 26, in an extraordinary session, the modification of Fiscal Ordinance No. 1, regulating the Property Tax (IBI) for the year 2027. The IBI tax rate remains at 0.875%, with no changes to the levy. The main novelty is the elimination of the requirement to have paid municipal taxes to access the discount for installing solar panels, although the obligation to process permits and submit the required documentation is maintained. The rest of the ordinance will come into effect on January 1, 2027.
The modification of Fiscal Ordinance No. 6, regulating fees for the collection, treatment, and disposal of garbage and other urban waste, has also been approved. Housing tariffs will increase by approximately 4% to 5% depending on the number of registered residents, due to the increased service cost from the Consorci de Residus del Vallès Oriental. The annual fee for a household with one registered person will rise from 191.59 to 199.48 euros. The fee for undeveloped land will be reduced from 120 to 100 euros annually.
Households with no registered residents will be able to benefit from reductions linked to waste management practices such as the use of the municipal recycling center, composting, or furniture collection, similar to other households. It is specified that entries to the recycling center from the previous year will be used to calculate the 2027 fee reductions. Existing discounts are maintained, with a maximum cap of 50%.
Furthermore, the fees for certain commercial, professional, and industrial establishments, such as bank offices, notaries, law firms, real estate agencies, and insurance companies, as well as industrial activities, are updated. The fee for premises without activity will increase from 128.99 to 386.97 euros. These modifications were approved with ten votes in favor and one abstention.
