Around twenty representatives from the tourism sector in Vallès Oriental convened at the Museu Abelló in Mollet del Vallès to define the main actions for the 2027 Action Plan. The meeting was welcomed by the President of the Consell Comarcal, Emilio Cordero, and the Mayor of Mollet del Vallès, Mireia Dionisio, who encouraged efforts to strengthen the region as a tourist destination.
The Tourism Councillor, Àlex Valiente, and the Councillor for Tourism of Mollet del Vallès, Estela Mas, highlighted the importance of collaboration between administrations and businesses to boost the sector, continuing the strategic lines developed in recent years.
The 2027 Action Plan is based on efficient, sustainable, and data-driven territorial tourism management, aligned with the Economic Development and Employment Strategic Plan of Vallès Oriental and the Barcelona Provincial Council's Tourism Intelligence Model. It is structured into four main areas: governance and territorial management, tourism competitiveness, tourism product, and destination promotion and marketing.
The governance area includes the planning and coordination of the regional tourism system. Competitiveness focuses on improving quality, professionalization, and data utilization, with programs such as Tourist Information Points and Sustainable Barcelona Destination.
The tourism product area groups projects related to experiences and regional resources, while promotion and marketing aim to showcase the region's tourism offerings.
Key priorities for 2027 include active and nature tourism, cultural tourism, and family tourism. A strategic project will be the development of the 'Tourism for All' Strategic Plan, aiming for a more accessible and inclusive destination.
The plan also integrates actions for sustainability, responsible tourism, and the 'slow' tourism model, alongside enhancing data collection for better management.
This initiative by the Consell Comarcal contributes to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3, 8, and 11, reinforcing its commitment to the 2030 Agenda.
