As autumn arrives, the Montmeló CAP is intensifying its efforts for the flu and COVID-19 vaccination campaign. The aim is to reduce the risk of complications, hospitalizations, and severe illness, particularly among the most vulnerable populations, in anticipation of increased respiratory virus circulation.
The campaign primarily targets individuals aged 60 and over, pregnant women, people with chronic illnesses or weakened immune systems, residents of healthcare and social care facilities, and healthcare and social care professionals. Vaccination is also recommended for caregivers and those living with vulnerable individuals. For the flu vaccine, children between 6 and 59 months are also included.
Vaccines help prevent severe forms of these infections and contribute to protecting both the vaccinated individual and their community. According to public health recommendations, individuals eligible for both vaccines can receive them simultaneously, provided there are no contraindications.
The campaign will be rolled out progressively, starting with priority groups and then extending to other recommended demographics. To check eligibility and book an appointment, individuals can consult La Meva Salut, the official appointment portal, or contact the Montmeló CAP directly.
The CAP team encourages the public to consult healthcare professionals with any questions. Getting vaccinated is considered a crucial step for self-care and caring for others, contributing to a more protected and healthier community this winter.
