The Consell Comarcal del Vallès Oriental hosted a key meeting to address the damage caused by the floods of October 5th.

The Mayor of Montornès del Vallès, José A. Montero, attended a meeting this Wednesday at the Consell Comarcal with the Spanish Government delegate in Catalonia, Carlos Prieto, and other mayors from affected municipalities. The objective was to discuss the situation of the towns and learn firsthand about potential state support to alleviate the damage.
During the meeting, the situation of the affected municipalities and their needs for recovery actions were presented. State aid for areas declared severely affected by a civil protection emergency was also explained.
Government delegate Carlos Prieto assured that the Executive is working to help affected municipalities return to normality as soon as possible, providing the necessary resources for the recovery of public services and municipal facilities, which are the priority.
Work is now underway to declare the area as severely affected by a civil protection emergency, which will enable extraordinary aid to be activated to address the damage. Representatives from other municipalities such as Canovelles, Granollers, Lliçà de Vall, Lliçà d’Amunt, Cardedeu, la Roca del Vallès, les Franqueses del Vallès, and Vilanova del Vallès also attended the meeting.
