Fruiteria Estrella, located on Carrer de l'Estrella in Montornès del Vallès, has become the first establishment of the 2026-2027 academic year to join the Comerç Aprenent (Learning Shops) program by the Consorci per a la Normalització Lingüística (CPNL).

The shop, which offers fresh produce as well as groceries from various cultures, aims to improve customer service by incorporating Catalan into everyday situations. Ahmed, a shop assistant, has started participating in the program to practice the language and offer a more personal experience to customers.
The Comerç Aprenent program facilitates Catalan learning for public-facing professionals who cannot regularly attend language courses. Through training sessions held at the shop itself, participants learn basic expressions for more natural interaction.
This initiative seeks not only language acquisition but also to provide practical tools that foster customer relationships, encourage loyalty, and strengthen the establishments' local roots.
Fruiteria Estrella will display the Comerç Aprenent distintive, inviting customers to address the staff in Catalan and thus collaborate in the language learning and consolidation process.
