The Vilanova del Vallès City Council will hold a meeting this Tuesday, November 3rd, with representatives from E-distribución to address the state of the municipal electricity grid following the intense rains in October.

The meeting will include the head of the Vallès Oriental-Maresme Territorial Unit and the head of the company's technical team. The objective is to discuss the impacts recorded in the municipality and follow up on the necessary actions to improve the grid.
According to E-Distribución, the weather events caused widespread incidents in the Maresme and Vallès Oriental regions. Medium-voltage grid failures were mainly linked to falling trees and landslides, affecting supports near streams. The company noted that the accumulation of incidents complicated the restoration of supply, although temporary generators were installed.
In Vilanova del Vallès, incidents were concentrated on two of the five lines that typically supply the municipality. Currently, E-Distribución is inspecting the affected network to identify potential additional actions. Furthermore, a recent incident on the S. Cebrià 1 line affected several areas, leaving 2600 customers without power, which required the replacement of a medium-voltage cabin at the BQ694 transformation center on Cerdanya street.
Tuesday's meeting will aim to finalize the company's action plans to prevent future incidents and enhance service quality.
