The Spanish Olympic Committee announced yesterday the list of 20 athletes for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Games, featuring a significant Catalan presence exceeding half of the total delegation.

The official list for the Milan-Cortina d’Ampezzo 2026 Winter Olympic Games, scheduled from February 6 to 22, includes 20 athletes, matching the record set at Sochi 2014. The Catalan delegation forms the majority, with three representatives from Lleida competing in cross-country skiing.
The three athletes from Lleida are Jaume Pueyo from Urgell, considered a serious medal contender; Bernat Sellés from Llers de Cerdanya; and Marc Colell. The flag bearer will be alpine skier Quim Salarich, alongside figure skater Olivia Smart.

The athlete with the most Olympic experience is snowboarder Queralt Castellet, who will participate in her sixth Games after winning the silver medal at Beijing 2022.

One of Spain's biggest medal hopes is Oriol Cardona, who is in excellent form after winning gold in the latest Ski Mountaineering World Cup event in Courchevel. The ski mountaineering team also includes Catalan athletes Maria Costa and Ot Ferrer. Furthermore, the young Nora Cornell will make her Olympic debut, following in the footsteps of Castellet.
The Spanish Winter Sports Federation (RFEDI) confirmed the presence of Queralt Castellet, Lucas Eguibar, Quim Salarich, Jaume Pueyo, Álvar Romero, Arrieta Rodríguez, Nora Cornell, Bernat Sellés, and Marc Colell. The cross-country skiers will compete in various sprint and 10 km events between February 10 and 18.
