El Pla de Santa Maria approves 4.19 million euro budget for 2026

Real investments exceed 1.35 million euros, prioritizing the municipal residence and the upgrade of the Camí del Bosc road.

The El Pla de Santa Maria City Council approved the municipal budget of 4,191,000 euros on December 15 for the 2026 fiscal year, focusing on improving residents' quality of life through key investments.

The real investment chapter amounts to 1,351,700 euros, targeting projects with immediate impact. The most significant allocation is for the Municipal Residence, with 406,700 euros earmarked for construction, services, and equipment, reinforcing the commitment to social services.
In the area of public infrastructure, 350,000 euros will be allocated to the upgrade of the Camí del Bosc road. Furthermore, 113,000 euros are planned for the recovery of the Pou de Vila-rodona well, an action subsidized by 95% by the Agència Catalana de l'Aigua.
Other improvements include 60,000 euros for the rehabilitation of Parc Sant Jordi and 50,000 euros for upgrading the terrace and access to the municipal swimming pool. Regarding mobility, Carrer Santes Creus will be paved (50,000 euros) and the blue track will be adapted (50,000 euros), the latter being the winning proposal of the 2025 Participatory Budgets.
Energy transition receives 83,000 euros for installing an aerothermal boiler in the schools and 50,000 euros for changing lighting fixtures in Torre Santa Maria. Finally, the budget also doubles the cultural allocation compared to 2023 and maintains aid and subsidies for families and local entities.
