Alcover Culture Summer 2026: Savall, dance, and rural theatre fill the programme

The municipality presents a summer lineup with prominent names in early music, performing arts, and popular culture.

The municipality of Alcover has unveiled its cultural programme for Summer 2026, featuring notable musical, performing arts, and popular culture events.

The summer season in Alcover promises a diverse and high-quality cultural offering, with highlights including the Jordi Savall Music Festival, the rural performing arts festival Escena Germinal, the Tardor en Dansa Cycle, and a performance by Quico el Cèlio, el Noi i el Mut de Ferreries.
Early music takes centre stage with the fifth edition of the Jordi Savall Music Festival on August 15th and 16th. The event will host performances such as 'Saó. Circ i música' and a concert by harpsichordist Olga Pashchenko, accompanied by actress Elena Tarrats.
On August 16th, Plaça Nova will host the concert by Quico el Cèlio, el Noi i el Mut de Ferreries, who will present a show blending popular music, humour, and tradition.
In terms of performing arts, Escena Germinal, the rural performing arts festival of the Camp de Tarragona region, will take place on July 21st, 23rd, and 25th, featuring shows like 'Sum Vermis' and 'Quan siguis gran i jo sigui velleta'.
Dance will also have its space with the Tardor en Dansa Cycle on September 20th, an initiative aimed at revitalizing the sector and decentralizing movement arts across Catalonia. Alcover is one of the participating municipalities.
Popular culture will also be featured with the Diada del Foc (Festival of Fire) on August 29th, dedicated to fire-related traditions, and the traditional Ballada de Sardanes (Sardana Dance) on September 10th, with a performance by the Cobla Principal de Tarragona.
The programme includes contemporary creation proposals, such as the presentation of 'Tentative 5,7' on July 30th and an open rehearsal of the show 'Digamelón' by actress Judit Martin on August 6th. There will also be a Two-Week Artistic Creation Residency at the Convent de les Arts.
Cinema is included with the screening of Estrany riu by director Jaume Claret Muxart on June 21st, and Tres adioses by director Isabel Coixet on September 27th. The programme is rounded off by the Sant Joan's Eve celebration, the presentation of the novel Anònima de crims by Salvador Balcells, and the Alcoverus Rock Festival.
