A cyclist sustained serious injuries after being hit by a vehicle on the TP-2002 road, near Santes Creus, in the municipality of Aiguamúrcia, on Wednesday, April 22, with the responsible driver fleeing the scene.

The incident occurred shortly before 6 PM, when another driver alerted the 112 emergency service after finding the injured cyclist at kilometer 5.6 of the road. Immediately, the Mossos d'Esquadra, Firefighters, and the Medical Emergency System (SEM) were activated to assist the victim.
The TP-2002 road was closed at the accident site to facilitate assistance to the injured person and to begin the search for evidence that could lead to the involved driver. According to police sources, the vehicle left the scene without assisting the cyclist, who is in serious condition with an uncertain prognosis.
This type of hit-and-run accident has occurred on other occasions. A similar case was registered on January 2 in Garcia, in Ribera d'Ebre, where a man also hit a cyclist on the C-12 road and fled. On that occasion, the injured person was transferred to the Tortosa hospital.
