A fire in a two-story building on Reus Avenue in Alcover caused material damage and required three people to be treated for smoke inhalation and anxiety this afternoon.

The fire, which started shortly before 1 PM, affected a property located at number 28 of Reus Avenue. When the firefighters arrived at the scene, the flames had already broken a window and were coming out of the building's facade.
To control the situation, the emergency personnel had to use an aerial ladder to fight the fire from the outside before being able to access the interior of the dwelling. The intervention was complex due to the intensity of the fire.
As a result of the incident, three people required assistance from the Medical Emergency Service (SEM). They were primarily treated for the effects of smoke inhalation and the state of distress and anxiety caused by the situation.
Up to thirteen ground units from the Generalitat Firefighters participated in the extinguishing and control efforts, in addition to personnel from the SEM, the Mossos d'Esquadra, and the Local Police of Alcover. Currently, the fire is extinguished, and monitoring is underway to prevent any potential rekindling.
