Labor unions representing International Paper workers in Valls and Montblanc visited the Catalan Parliament this Tuesday to seek political intervention against the planned closure of two industrial sites.

The delegation met with the President of the Parliament, Josep Rull, who pledged to discuss the situation with the United States ambassador. Meetings were also held with major political groups, including PSC, ERC, Comuns, and CUP, to highlight the severe economic consequences for the Alt Camp and Conca de Barberà regions.
Local authorities from Valls and Montblanc, along with the Government of Catalonia and the Spanish Ministry of Industry, are currently monitoring the situation to explore alternatives that could preserve industrial activity and local jobs.
