The Querol Town Council has presented a special program to commemorate the 1,050 years since the first documentary references to the municipality, with events on July 24th and August 14th.

Querol is commemorating an exceptional historical milestone: 1,050 years since the first documentary references to the municipality. The celebration highlights the past of Querol, Pinyana, and Montagut, three strategic castles that were key in shaping the current municipality.
The main events will be concentrated on two significant dates: July 24th, coinciding with the Aplec de Sant Jaume (St. James' Gathering), and August 14th, during the Festa Major (Main Festival).
On July 24th, the Municipality Day, it transforms into the Nits de Sant Jaume (St. James' Nights). Due to fire risk and high temperatures, the midday paella has been canceled, and events are moved to the evening. The day will include a concert by Lidia Pujol (with prior reservation) and a wine tasting with live music.
On Saturday, July 25th, there will be a mass in Esblada followed by a millennium vermouth.
The bulk of the Millennium activities will take place on Wednesday, August 14th. The day will begin at 6:00 PM with a talk "A Thousand Stories, A Thousand Years," by historians Isidre Pastor and Mabel Berenguer.
At 7:15 PM, a theatrical guided tour of the town and the Castle will be held. Subsequently, at 8:15 PM, the Millennium Totem, a commemorative monument, will be officially inaugurated.
The evening will continue with a fellowship dinner organized by the Residents' Association, featuring a sardine and ham barbecue, starting at 9:15 PM. The celebration will conclude at 11:30 PM with a concert by the group EMMANEMS.
The Town Council invites all citizens and residents of neighboring towns to join this historical celebration.
