With the aim of providing cool spaces in the face of extreme weather events, the city of Valls has set up a total of 23 reception points. These spaces are divided into fifteen outdoor areas, such as squares, parks, and promenades, strategically located throughout the town, and eight municipal facilities that will be open to the public from July 1st.
The eight municipal facilities serving as indoor climate shelters are the Comarques Civic Centre, the Carles Cardó Library, the lobby of the Valls City Hall, the Municipal Information and Tourism Office, Ca Xapes in the Historic Centre, the Valls Museum, the Vallsgenera headquarters, and the Xavi Tondo municipal pavilion in the Fornàs neighborhood.
Complementing these indoor spaces, the city has fifteen outdoor shaded areas, including squares, promenades, and parks, which will also serve as places to cool down. These include the squares of Mas Clariana, Pompeu Fabra (La Fraternal neighborhood), de les Escudelles (Historic Centre), de la Xamora, and President Companys (Fornàs). Children's parks such as those in Sant Francesc and the neighborhoods of Santa Úrsula, Bon Sol, and Vilar are also included, as are the promenades of Caputxins and l’Estació, and the parks of Mas Miquel and Barrau.
