Dèbora Fernández, the Esquerra Republicana councilor, has submitted her resignation as head of Social and Community Action and Equality and Feminism at Valls City Council, effective at the plenary session on December 29.

Fernández, who had held the position since July 1, 2023, communicated her reasons in a farewell letter set to be published on Friday, December 19, by the local outlet El Vallenc.

Esquerra Republicana publicly expressed its gratitude to the councilor “for the work she has carried out at the head of two areas so sensitive and important for the progress and social cohesion of our city”.
The ERC municipal group will announce the name of the replacement and the possible restructuring of responsibilities among its members in the coming weeks. This marks the sixth resignation in the Valls City Council during 2025, following those of Rosa Maria Ibarra (PSC), Mariona Montalà (CUP), Francisco González (Vox), and Joan París (ERC).
