After the summer break, the Ramon Bordas i Estragués Library is relaunching its reading clubs this autumn. The new season promises a variety of literary proposals, spaces for debate, and shared cultural experiences, guided by specialized facilitators.
The Comic Reading Club, with over twelve years of history, will be the first to begin on October 8th. The inaugural session will focus on the work Los combates cotidianos by Manu Larcenet, under the guidance of Ovídia Barneo.
This year marks the tenth anniversary of Llegir el Teatre (Reading Theater), a dramatic reading project promoted by the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, the Teatre Lliure, and the Libraries Service of the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya. The first play to be discussed will be Cadell by Josep Maria Miró, on October 29th, with Maria Rosa Oliveras as facilitator.
In March, participants will have the opportunity to converse with playwright Llàtzer Garcia about his work Grans bardisses. This play will also be featured in one of the theater excursions to Barcelona on March 6th, 2027, followed in May by attendance at the performance of La mare Coratge i els seus fills and the meeting of the Llegir el Teatre de Catalunya reading clubs.
The Narrative Reading Club will commence on November 19th with Florence, la indòmita by author Joan Manuel Soldevilla, who will participate in the discussion. Other titles selected for the course include La mirada by Georges Simenon, El mar by Blai Bonet, and Nubosidad variable by Carmen Martín Gaite. Additionally, in March, author Jordi Dausà will visit to discuss his novel Lèmmings.
The Youth Reading Club, aimed at individuals aged 12 to 16, starts on October 1st with the novel El clam de la lloba by Maite Carranza. On October 29th, the author herself will attend a session to share insights with participants.
Interested individuals for the theater activities must register in advance, as places are limited and require ticket purchase.
