The organization, managed by Fira de Mollerussa, has opened the contest's theme to the entire city to commemorate the event. Registration is free, and 10 awards will be distributed. The mayor of Mollerussa and president of the fair entity, Marc Solsona, highlighted the prize money, which attracts numerous painters year after year, thanks to sponsorships from institutions and companies.
The first prize, funded by the Mollerussa City Council and Fira de Mollerussa, is endowed with 1,200 euros. The second prize, sponsored by the firm Nufri, amounts to 800 euros, and the third, sponsored by the company A. Miquel, receives 600 euros. The remaining prizes are funded by Federòptics Roure (€525), Centre d’Estudis Pla d’Urgell / Aulastudi (€470), Prefabricats Pujol (€450), Fridecal (€430), Arcusin (€360), and Resquitx (€330).
Registration, free as in previous editions, will take place in the lobby of the Teatre L’Amistat between 8:30 AM and 11 AM. The jury, composed of industry professionals, will announce its decision and present the awards at 4:45 PM in the theater's Hall.
This year brings changes to the judging panel. It will consist of the director of the Museu de Lleida, Clara Arbués; the drawing professor from the Escola d’Art Ondara and the Escola Superior d’Arts Plàstiques de Catalunya, Laia Carrera; and Maria Dolors Carmona, a graduate in Applied Arts and Artistic Trades and manager of Arts Mollerussa.
The awarded artworks will be on display at the Casal Municipal Sènior de Mollerussa from September 28th to October 2nd.
