Cadaqués is gearing up for a special Sant Jordi celebration with its third Literary Fair, an intense event scheduled for the weekend of April 18 and 19.

The Cadaqués City Council and the Cosa Nova 17488 publishing house have collaborated to create a diverse cultural program that includes book presentations, author talks, theatrical performances, writing workshops, and book signings. This initiative aims to energize the local literary scene and offer a rich prelude to the Sant Jordi festival.
Among the writers participating in the fair are figures connected to the town such as Vicenç Altaió, Salvador García-Arbós, Joaquim Biendicho, Sílvia Alberich, Òscar Palazón, Natàlia Cerezo, Jordi Pastells, Javi Fernández, Ester Enrich Coma, and Veronica Botelho Alburquerque, who will share their works and experiences with the public.
The fair will also coincide with the annual literary awards ceremony that traditionally precedes the Sant Jordi celebration. These include the 43rd Carles Rahola Journalism Award, the 39th Rosa Leveroni Poetry Award, and the 31st Quima Jaume Literary Career Recognition Award. The awards ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, at 11 AM, at the Teatre Art i Joia.
Activities will begin on Saturday afternoon at the Passeig with the presentation of Salvador García-Arbós's book Història galàctica del porró. Later, Cia. A la Brava will perform the play La Commedia (o un amor artificial). Sunday will be the busiest day, featuring the presentation of Cartografia de l'estrany. Mapa I: Finestres, the debut work from Cosa Nova 17488 publishing house, at the Passeig Marítim. Concurrently, at the Residència Hospital de Cadaqués, the show Sobremesa, combining music, dance, and poetry with Amanda, Juanlu Leprovost, Betson, and Madalena, will take place.
Sunday's program will continue with a conversation about the figure of Clementina Arderiu led by Maria Callís and Rosa Ardid, followed by Maria Sevilla's sound poetry performance Dues vides són en mi. In the afternoon, the Passeig will host a 50 Tacus concert with Jordi Pastells, Jordi Grivé, and Leila Claud, and another performance dedicated to Clementina Arderiu, L'esperança encara dansa, with Glòria Coll.
The fair will conclude with a writing workshop taught by Ester Enrich Coma at Patrick J. Domken's gallery, featuring piano accompaniment by Filipiño Vacha. Additionally, on the same evening, Cap de Creus will be the setting for a concert of poetry, music, and dance, Sobremesa, with the same artists from the morning performance.
