The Assemblea per Cadaqués-CUP has called for the resignation of Mayor Pia Serinyana in Cadaqués, accusing her of lying about truck transit extensions and operating an illegal tourist accommodation.

The demand for resignation is based on two main issues. Firstly, the CUP alleges that Serinyana lied about granting an extension for trucks passing through the Cap de Creus Natural Park, vehicles used for constructing a luxury hotel. The party claims the Mayor asserted she had issued the extension after the deadline expired, even though only the Natural Park has the authority to grant such permits.

"This proves she lied to us, which is why she is not responding to the requests made to her by the GAIP."

The second reason is the detection of about seventy tourist accommodations (HUTs) operating “illegally” in the municipality, one of which, according to Xesco Vallverdú and Dani Cornellà, is managed by Serinyana herself. This flat is listed as a “shared home,” but the CUP emphasizes that to meet this condition, the owner must reside with the tenants.
The anti-capitalist party highlights the contradiction that the Mayor makes “headlines saying she fights against tourist overcrowding in the town” while allegedly managing an illegal tourist flat. Consequently, Cornellà and Vallverdú registered documents at the Cadaqués Town Hall that, they claim, prove the irregularities and falsehoods.
