The Generalitat Civil Protection ended the INUNCAT Plan alert today, Thursday, January 22, 2026, after river flows in Catalonia's internal basins returned to normal levels following the recent storm.

The General Directorate of Civil Protection of the Generalitat has terminated the alert status of the Special Emergency Plan for Floods in Catalonia (INUNCAT), thanks to the general improvement in the hydrological situation. The Catalan Water Agency (ACA) confirmed the normalization of flow in the Tordera basin as it passes through Fogars de la Selva, allowing the closure of the hydrological risk warning that affected several sections of the river.
Previously, the ACA had already lifted warnings for affected sections of the Ter, Gaià, Muga, and Daró rivers, which had experienced significant flooding due to the recent severe weather event. This normalization concludes days of extreme vigilance across various Catalan regions.

Despite this favorable evolution, Civil Protection reminds the public that river flows will remain relatively high for the next few days. For this reason, caution is requested near riverbeds, in flood-prone areas, and at crossing points.

Furthermore, the warning for the state of the sea, which affected the entire Catalan coast until early afternoon this Wednesday, has also concluded without any notable incidents reported along the coastline.
