The men's and women's senior teams of Unió Esportiva Figueres achieved crucial victories on Saturday, ending their poor run of results in Vilatenim and Vic.

Unió Esportiva Figueres enjoyed an excellent Saturday afternoon, as both of its first teams managed to break the poor streak of results they shared. The men's senior team, led by Jordi Grabulosa and Arseni Comas, secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory against Torroella at Vilatenim, a result that temporarily lifts them out of the relegation zone in Primera Catalana.
The match was dramatic. After taking a 2-0 lead with goals from Joel Casado and Zou (penalty), Figueres suffered the straight red card expulsion of Xavi Ferrón just before halftime. Playing with ten men, Torroella equalized thanks to a brace from Genís Chávez (53' and 74'). However, Sicka, the best player of the match, responded immediately in the 75th minute with the winning goal (3-2).
As for the women's senior team, the match was less stressful. The team thrashed Vic Riuprimer 2-5 away, seizing the opportunity to recover from their recent poor form. The scorers were Laia Palomeras (5'), Maria Arias (41'), Laia Ansón (59'), Maria Pujol (61'), and Simona Brugat (89').
With this victory, the Figueres women's team remains sixth with 23 points. Their next fixture will be at home, next Sunday, against the co-leader of Primera, Cirera. Meanwhile, the men's senior team will face Banyoles in a crucial direct relegation battle.
