Civil Protection deactivated the Inuncat plan alert this Wednesday following the heavy rains that affected Catalonia between December 15 and 17, registering 1,099 emergency calls.

The intense rainfall episode occurred in two periods of strong intensity. The first affected the interior of Camp de Tarragona, and the latter concentrated especially on the metropolitan area of Barcelona. Although it rained in the Terres de l'Ebre overnight and early morning, no significant incidents were reported.
The episode summary shows that the 112 emergency phone received a total of 1,099 calls related to 727 incidents, none of which were considered very serious. Simultaneously, the Bombers de la Generalitat (Firefighters) responded to 314 alerts, mostly concentrated in the Northern Metropolitan Region.
Most of the calls to the emergency number originated from the Barcelonès region (80%). The most common incidents were basement flooding (68%), followed by structural risk to buildings (11%) and road flooding (6%).
Firefighters services were especially focused on the Northern Metropolitan Region (273 services), with the city of Badalona standing out with 160 alerts due to flooded streets and ground floors. The Collapsed Structures Group (GREC) was activated to inspect affected properties, ruling out severe structural damage.
