The capital of Alt Empordà, one of the 23 Catalan municipalities with accredited rental demand, will host 150 of the 1,940 total homes planned in this tender. The tender, described as "pioneering" by the Territori department, was published on January 9 and establishes a 75-year surface right or concession.
The four plots designated for Figueres are located in the Costa Brava Avenue sector. Specifically, they are on Cantallops street, number 12; Espolla street, number 16, and the other two at numbers 7 and 8 on Sant Climent street. The four blocks combined are expected to total the 150 planned homes, distributed in blocks of between 33 and 40 flats each.
The competition combines public initiative, which provides the plot and sets the conditions, with the operational capacity of the private or third sector for construction and management.
The purpose of the tender is to select developers for these plots that have already obtained a favorable resolution for inscription in the first public reserve call. The private sector builds and manages under quality, price, and service criteria during the 75-year concession.
Figueres is part of demand group 3, along with six other municipalities in the Girona regions: Girona, Vilablareix, Lloret de Mar, Tossa de Mar, and Maçanet de la Selva. This group also includes Mollet del Vallès and Sant Celoni (Vallès Oriental).
