Figueres Mountain and Adventure Exhibition celebrates 25 years focusing on Catalan mountaineering

The festival, organized by the Centre Excursionista Empordanès, will offer nine days of screenings, conferences, exhibitions, and block climbing.

The Figueres Mountain and Adventure Exhibition celebrates its 25th edition between January 16 and 24, 2026, featuring an extensive program focused on Catalan mountaineers and their stories.

The exhibition, organized by the Centre Excursionista Empordanès, will take place in various key venues in the capital of Alt Empordà, including La Cate, Catcinemes de Figueres, and the Cercle Sport Figuerenc. This special anniversary edition includes documentary screenings, book presentations, talks, and various photography and painting exhibitions.
Among the highlights, Friday, January 16, will open with the screening of the documentary Wheelprint stories, presented by Sònia Colomo and Eloi Miquel. On Saturday, January 17, films such as K2 Sergi Mingote, Dues dones, una Patagònia, and Obrint camí. Kangtega 84 will be screened.
Mountain literature will also be featured on Wednesday, January 21, with the presentation of the book Roques i baumes viscudes, by Ernest Costa i Savoia, winner of the Creu de Sant Jordi in 2021. Furthermore, on Friday, January 23, the legendary climber Ramon Julián Ramonet will be the focus with the documentary Endless power.
The closing event on Saturday, January 24, will feature a block climbing session in the moat of the Castell de Sant Ferran de Figueres, followed by the screening of the film Jordi Pons, quan els records pesen més que l’esperança, with the presence of the mountaineer Jordi Pons and director Jaume Altadill.
