Three individuals were injured early Sunday morning in Figueres after a chimney fire completely burned the dining room of a farmhouse located on Sant Pau de la Calçada street.

The fire alert was received by the Bombers de la Generalitat (Catalan Firefighters) at 3:16h. The fire started in the chimney of the dwelling, a farmhouse with a ground floor and two upper floors, and spread quickly.
When emergency services arrived at the scene, the dining room was already affected and fully engulfed in flames. The three people inside managed to evacuate the property unassisted before the rescue teams arrived.
One of the injured individuals was transferred to Vall d'Hebron Hospital in Barcelona for specialized care, while the other two were treated and admitted to Figueres Hospital. The Firefighters deployed up to four units to extinguish the blaze.
