The initiative, which last year was held on a single day, grows in this second edition by incorporating the Museu del Joguet (Toy Museum) as a new venue, in addition to the La Cate hall. TotenCat will bring together fifteen cultural disseminators who will cover topics such as comics, cinema, board games, literature, and illustration.
The event will kick off on Friday, February 6, at seven in the evening at the Museu del Joguet with Lleònia Playmobil and Sergi Giró, who will review the history of the popular click brand. The bulk of the programming will be concentrated on Saturday at the Toni Montal hall of La Cate, featuring podcasts like Forquilla de Metall and round tables on board games with Iván Ledesma and Arnau Bernet, and on comics with Parlem de Còmic and Els Bufacanyes.
The afternoon session will include a talk on Catalan mythology with Alfons Blue and Origomiti, the literature and illustration podcast Narranación, and a debate on Star Trek with disseminators Ignasi Arbat, Sergi Toboso, and Marc Vizcarro. The closing will be a conversation about the current state of cinema with the channels 7è art and Us la recomano.
“"In this way, in addition to publicizing the different active proposals in Catalan, support will also be given to people and projects that have converted this hobby into true activism."
As a notable novelty, TotenCat is launching an award that will recognize the trajectory in the use and defense of Catalan in content creation. The winner will be announced on Saturday at 3:45 p.m. The meeting is an initiative promoted by the platforms El Far Friki de l'Empordà, La Batcova, and Director Frustrat, and is supported by the Figueres City Council.
