Garriguella celebrates Christmas with a program full of bingos, royal camp, and the traditional parade

The municipality in Alt Empordà maintains its festive schedule with activities running from the lights switch-on until the arrival of the Three Kings.

The Christmas program organized by the Garriguella Town Council offers a wide variety of cultural and traditional events taking place in the town from December 5 until the Three Kings Parade on January 5.

The festive agenda officially began on December 5 with the switching on of the Christmas lights. Events already held include the inauguration of the 3rd Nativity Scene Exhibition at the Rectory, the Christmas Market in the Plaça de l’Església, and the magical walk to find the 'tió'.

As every year, Christmas in Garriguella is a time full of all kinds of activities and for all tastes.

The traditional 'quines' (bingo games) are a highlight of the calendar. The first will be held on December 20 at 8 PM, organized by the CE Garriguella and the Els Mandrils de l’Albera Youth Association. The second will take place on December 27 at 6 PM, run by the 6th Grade families in collaboration with the AFA.
On December 28, the Plaça de l’Església will host the Royal Camp starting at six in the afternoon, where children can deliver their letters. Finally, the Three Kings Parade will close the program on January 5, starting its route at 6:30 PM from the Plaça de Baix de Garriguella.
Another prominent event will be the celebration of the New Year’s Eve Chimes, which will begin at 11:45 PM on December 31 in the Plaça de l’Església.
