The Government has confirmed the launch of a new financial aid program for low-income families, which can amount to up to 1,380 euros annually per child under 3 years old.

This benefit, which is now in effect, is integrated into the minimum vital income system, but is also accessible to low-income families who do not meet the direct eligibility criteria.
The amount of aid varies according to the child's age. For children under 3 years old, the benefit is 115 euros per month (1,380 euros annually). For children between 3 and 6 years old, the amount is 80.50 euros per month (966 euros annually). Finally, for children between 6 and 18 years old, 57.50 euros per month (690 euros annually) are offered.
To access this aid, the family's annual income must not exceed 300% of the guaranteed income corresponding to the household type. Furthermore, net worth must be less than 150% of the minimum vital income limit, excluding the value of the primary residence.
Applications can be submitted online through the Social Security website or in person at its offices. Documentation such as ID card (DNI/NIE), family book, and proof of residence (certificate of empadronamiento) will be required. The deadline to process the benefit is three months from the child's birth or from when the conditions are met.
Payments are made via monthly bank transfer. Social Security provides an online simulator to check eligibility before applying. It is important to note that, although linked to the minimum vital income, the aid is not exclusively limited to its beneficiaries.
