The CUP party has voiced strong opposition to the Ministry of Defense's plans to restrict access to a public path connecting Sant Climent Sescebes and Cantallops.

MP Dani Cornellà argued that the installation of security gates for military shooting exercises compromises public safety and freedom of movement. The party has called for an immediate halt to all live-fire drills at the local military base, citing past incidents where artillery shells landed on civilian property near Espolla.

"The best option to guarantee the safety of people traveling by vehicle or on foot is to stop all shooting activities at the base."

The political formation is also demanding the permanent closure of the base and the return of 1,380 hectares of land expropriated in 1978. They claim the lack of forest management in the military area poses a significant wildfire risk to the Albera mountain range.
