The municipality of Pedret i Marzà, in the Alt Empordà region, recorded two agricultural vegetation fires this Thursday, mobilizing numerous units from the Generalitat Fire Department.

The second fire, which broke out in the evening near the GIV-6043 road, burned an estimated area of six to seven hectares of fields and riparian vegetation. Extinguishing efforts were supported by six aerial units and fourteen ground crews, managing to stabilize the perimeter overnight.
Throughout Friday, emergency teams continued working in the area to dampen the ground and prevent potential flare-ups, especially given the presence of tramontana winds in the region.
The first fire occurred in the morning, around 11:14 AM, in farmland near the IAE-17 road. This fire, which affected stubble and reed beds, was declared extinguished on Thursday following the intervention of three aerial units and fourteen ground crews.
The Rural Agents have opened an investigation to determine the exact causes that triggered both fires in the same municipality during the day.
