The Alt Empordà Hospitality Association held its 8th annual Tourism Night in l'Escala this Monday, honoring the institutions and professionals driving the region's tourism and gastronomy.

The Town Council of l'Escala was awarded the Tramuntana d'Honor for its cultural preservation efforts. Other winners included the Toy Museum of Catalonia and the restaurant El Roser 2. Businessmen Xavi Sala and Agustí Viarnés were also recognized for their lifelong contributions to the local hospitality industry.

"The highway crossing Empordà is currently oriented almost exclusively to freight transport and does not meet the needs of a quality tourist destination."

Miquel Gotanegra · President of the Alt Empordà Hospitality Association
Beyond the awards, the event served as a platform to demand better mobility, specifically the Figueres Centre highway exit and improved connections between Alt and Baix Empordà to unify the destination's appeal.
