The environmental groups SOS Costa Brava, Amics de la Natura de Cadaqués, and IAEDEN-Salvem l'Empordà have filed formal objections against the new POUM of Cadaqués, labeling it as unsustainable.

The municipal plan approved last September proposes developing 54 hectares of land, potentially adding 755 new homes. Activists argue this could increase the population by 2,200 people, putting extreme pressure on water supplies and local infrastructure.

The plan insists on expanding the limits of an exhausted territory.

Specific concerns focus on areas like Sa Guarda and S'Oliguera, where steep slopes and flood risks are present. The groups advocate for a growth model aligned with the Slow Town philosophy, prioritizing environmental preservation over secondary residence development.
