Figueres Climbs to Fifth Position in Primera Catalana

Figueres has climbed to fifth position in Primera Catalana following their 2-3 away victory against Aro, consolidating a positive run in recent matchdays.

The team coached by Arseni Comas demonstrated their ambition in one of the Empordà derbies of the league, placing themselves among the top five in the category with only six points left to play for. This victory marks their sixth in the last nine matches, highlighting their excellent form.
La Unió took the initiative from the start of the game. Almost consecutive goals from Laia Palomeras in the 15th minute and Tati in the 20th minute established a 0-2 lead before the half-hour mark. Although Aro managed to narrow the gap shortly after, Júlia Soler scored the third goal for La Unió in the 50th minute, capitalizing on a local player's expulsion. Despite another goal from the rivals that made the score 2-3, the home team could not secure a draw.
With this result, Figueres is three points ahead of Estartit and Inter Granollers, direct rivals in the standings. Before facing Estartit in the final matchday, the team from Alt Empordà will host Ona Sant Adrià, the current league leader, next Sunday at five in the afternoon at Vilatenim.
