The Figueres council has approved a budget modification to increase its contribution by 35,000 euros, raising the municipal subsidy to 355,000 euros. This measure ends three years of budget freezes, a period in which rising production, security, and artistic contracting costs have pressured the event's finances.
The municipal effort is joined by 25,000 euros from the Generalitat and 30,000 euros provided by the State. According to municipal sources, the funds allocated by the council come from a budget line initially intended for job evaluation that will not be executed during the current fiscal year.
The local government has emphasized that this operation will not affect other cultural subsidies in the city, as the funding for Acústica is managed by the Economic Promotion department. The goal is to adapt the budget to the generalized increase in service costs and guarantee the celebration of the twenty-third edition, which will take place at the end of August.
