The Minister of Culture, Sònia Hernández, has officially inaugurated FiraTàrrega, an event she described as one of the most significant venues for performing arts in Catalonia.

Hernández emphasized the Street Theatre Fair's ability to connect the professional world with the general public, offering a wide variety of shows. She described the week as "the theatre week in Catalonia" and announced an investment of over 30 million euros in a three-year plan for the performing arts.
The mayor of Tàrrega, Rosa Maria Perelló, highlighted FiraTàrrega's evolution, its adaptation to the sector's needs, and its growing international projection, without forgetting its local roots. She called it one of the country's oldest artistic markets and expressed the need to ensure it has an adequate budget, which for this edition amounts to 1,267,000 euros.
Abigail Ballester, executive director, recalled that FiraTàrrega was the first street arts market created in Spain and is a benchmark in Southern Europe. She highlighted the presence of international professionals and companies who use the Fair to establish relationships, create productions, and grow the performing arts.
Artistic director Anna Giribet stressed that street arts represent "pure and hard democracy," offering four days to enjoy public spaces.
Finally, Javier Monsalve, Director General of Performing Arts and Music from the Ministry of Culture, noted that the Fair not only facilitates meetings among professionals at a state level but also promotes the internationalization of Spanish performing and street arts, elevating them to an exceptional level.
