The Toy Museum of Catalonia in Figueres will host the presentation of a new biographical book about Jordi Sargatal, a key figure in Catalan nature conservation, this Saturday, February 28th.

Written by environmental journalist Antonio Cerrillo, the book Jordi Sargatal, l'home que seguia els ocells (The man who followed birds) summarizes three years of conversations. The work, published by Icaria, traces the history of the environmental movement in Catalonia over the last half-century.
Jordi Sargatal, born in Figueres in 1957, led the historic campaign to save the Aiguamolls de l'Empordà wetlands from urban development. He later became the first director of the natural park and currently serves as the Secretary of Ecological Transition for the Generalitat.

"It is a biography, but at the same time, it is a historical narrative and an essay on the birth of the conservationist movement."
