The city of Figueres has officially launched the Santa Creu Fairs and Festivals 2026 with the presentation of its program, featuring over 150 activities and the return of fireworks to Castell de Sant Ferran.

After two cancellations due to adverse weather, Figueres' Plaça de l’Església finally hosted the program presentation for the Santa Creu Fairs and Festivals 2026. The event, held on Thursday, April 9, unveiled over 150 activities that will animate the capital of Alt Empordà between April 24 and May 3.
The ceremony, hosted by Carles Pujol, saw the participation of various personalities and entities involved in the organization. Among them, the Councilor for Popular Culture, Josep Maria Barnils, and this year's poster artist, Clàudia Cobos, detailed the illustration's elements and its connection to Figueres' 150th anniversary as a city.

"This year's program is exceptional, and I encourage everyone to participate in these festive days. Furthermore, the fireworks display returns to Castell de Sant Ferran, a privileged location that will allow the fireworks to be seen from almost the entire city."

Jordi Masquef · Mayor of Figueres
Figueres' Mayor, Jordi Masquef, highlighted the program's quality and announced the return of the fireworks display to Castell de Sant Ferran, a location promising exceptional visibility for the entire city. He also congratulated the Colla Castellera de Figueres on their thirtieth anniversary and thanked them for accepting to be the festival's town criers. The president of the 'colla', Anna Alcubierre, revealed that the opening speech would involve members of various ages and, naturally, include 'castells' (human towers).
Other entities, such as the Amics dels Gegants de Figueres, led by La Diabòlica and en Berruga (who celebrates his 150th anniversary), also presented their activities. The Councilor for Festivals, Pilar Sánchez; the vice-president of the Casino Menestral Figuerenc, Josep Maria Agustí; and Lídia López, representing the Casa Cultural d’Andalusia, detailed events like the May 1st Fairs, the Nit de la Cebeta, concerts, dance shows, and performances by the Orquestra Di-versiones and the Cobla Sant Jordi – Ciutat de Barcelona.
Finally, the Councilor for Youth, Pere Montserrat, along with representatives from the Consell Municipal de Vilatenim and the Club Waterpolo Figueres, introduced El Rampell, the concert venue at Parc de les Aigües. This space will feature a diverse lineup with groups such as Banda Neón, Ginestà, Doctor Prats, and Crim, as well as local bands like James Band and 7 de copes. The second edition of Entxispa’t will also take place, touring Figueres' bars before accompanying La Diabòlica to the 'barraques' area. The event concluded with a family photo and a concert by Víctor Marín.
