The Figueres City Council will recover the 2018 public space occupation ordinance to implement it gradually, as confirmed by Mayor Jordi Masquef during the latest municipal plenary session.

The regulations will be reviewed and approved in several blocks to ensure full enforcement. This decision addresses the legal department's need for tools to penalize offenders. A meeting has been scheduled after Easter to discuss the details with the opposition.

"Since the ordinance is very broad and covers many aspects, we propose to recover it and put it into effect in stages."

Regarding finances, Councilor Ramon Pastoret presented the 2025 budget liquidation. Despite a 5.8 million euro surplus, the council must submit a financial plan for exceeding spending limits due to investments in Vilatenim.
