Mayor Jordi Masquef presented the latest security data for Figueres during the Local Police Day ceremony held last Thursday at the Teatre Municipal el Jardí.

Over the past 18 months, the Figueres Local Police has carried out 403 arrests and issued 830 fines. The operations mainly targeted robberies, domestic violence, and anti-social behavior. Additionally, officers investigated 657 individuals and handled over 500 judicial requests.

"We can proudly state that the work done is evident, not only in the statistics but also in the public's perception."

The city is moving forward with plans to install license plate recognition cameras at all road entrances and establish a dedicated anti-squatting office. These measures follow the implementation of a rapid response protocol that has already seen 38 interventions in occupied properties.
