The Generalitat de Catalunya has initiated a sanctioning procedure against a campsite in Cadaqués following an urban planning inspection carried out by the Town Council, which detected non-compliance before the SOS Costa Brava complaint.

The Cadaqués Town Council conducted an inspection at the WeCamp campsite in early June 2023, identifying several urban planning irregularities. This municipal action took place before the environmental group SOS Costa Brava filed its first complaint on the matter.
The documentation gathered by the council was sent to the Generalitat de Catalunya, which opened a sanctioning procedure in July of the same year. This procedure is currently in the allegations phase.
The mayor of Cadaqués, Pia Serinyana, has defended the municipal management, criticizing the accusations of opacity from SOS Costa Brava. According to Serinyana, the environmental group was already aware of the ongoing procedure, as they were previously informed.
SOS Costa Brava had publicly announced a complaint to Urban Planning for alleged "irregularities" at the campsite, accusing the council of not responding to several previous complaints. The town council, however, points out that the inspection requested had already been carried out and that the documentation was sent to the Generalitat on June 23, 2023, while the entity's first complaint was received on June 30.
Serinyana emphasized that the town council has acted "at all times" within the framework of urban planning legality and that the Generalitat communicated the opening of the procedure in early May, following a prior request submitted by SOS Costa Brava in April.
