The initiative, held at the Municipal Sports Pavilion and the Municipal Multipurpose Court, currently comprises eight morning groups, with sessions running between 8:45 AM and 12:30 PM. Each group has approximately 45 participants, exceeding the maximum capacity and highlighting the activity's success and positive reception among the town's elderly residents.
To address this significant demand, the Roses City Council has introduced a new afternoon group as its main novelty. These sessions will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 4:15 PM to 5:00 PM, and still have some places available for interested individuals.
“"Having all eight morning groups full demonstrates that Gent Gran Activa is a consolidated program that works and responds to a real demand from the elderly in Roses. Precisely for this reason, this season we are taking a further step and expanding the activity with a new afternoon group."
Councillor for the Elderly, Ester Navas, emphasized the program's consolidation and the council's commitment to continue listening to the needs of the elderly to strengthen policies that contribute to their well-being, socialization, and quality of life.
Gent Gran Activa is a completely free activity aimed at promoting physical activity, healthy habits, and social interaction among the elderly residents of Roses. With this schedule expansion, the council reaffirms its efforts to promote active aging and adapt municipal services to citizen demands.
