The Interior Department has decided to relocate the Rural Agents self-protection training to Girona this February, following protests at the Sant Climent Sescebes military base.

The move follows a road blockade by the Orgull d'Agents Rurals collective at the entrance of the Alt Empordà military facility. Protesters and politicians, including Dani Cornellà and Salvador Vergés, criticized the use of army barracks for civil servant training, citing concerns over militarization.
The Girona City Council has granted permission to use the Fontajau arena for future sessions. Although the corps has used the Talarn military base since 2019 due to a lack of its own facilities, the recent backlash has forced a change in strategy.
