The basketball community in Alt Empordà and Selva is mourning the death of Josep Verdaguer, a prominent player and coach for Adepaf Figueres during the 1970s and 80s.

Nicknamed Cinto, Josep Verdaguer was a towering figure in local sports, standing over two meters tall. He spent much of his career at Adepaf, where he was a key player before transitioning to coaching, leading the team to several notable promotions.
In 1989, he took charge of the Valvi Adepaf women's team in the Spanish top flight, succeeding Pere Maristany. This team was part of the historic project originally developed by Rafel Mora.

"He was a good person, very hardworking and involved in the club."
