”la Caixa” Foundation renews Isidre Fainé as President and approves record budget

The board unanimously greenlit Fainé's continuity for four more years and validated 710 million euros dedicated to social action programs.

The board of trustees of the ”la Caixa” Banking Foundation unanimously renewed President Isidre Fainé for four more years on Monday, approving a historic budget of 710 million euros.

The decision to keep Isidre Fainé at the helm of the ”la Caixa” Banking Foundation was taken unanimously during the board meeting held this Monday. In addition to Fainé's continuity, the body also re-elected Javier Godó as Vice President.
The board agreed to renew the status of trustees for prominent figures such as José María Álvarez-Pallete, Luis Carreras, Isabel Estapé, Maria Isabel Gabarró, Eugenio Gay, Francesc Homs, and Pablo Isla. The entry of Baldiri Ros, proposed by the Institut Agrícola Català de Sant Isidre, was also formalized for a two-year period.

The validated budget, described as “historic,” amounts to 710 million euros, representing an 8.4% increase compared to the previous year's exercise in 2025. The ”la Caixa” Foundation detailed that 60% of these funds will be allocated to social transformation programs, while 20% will go to research and scholarships, and the remaining 20% to the dissemination of culture and science.
