The town of L'Escala will celebrate its 2026 Carnival with a family program and the reinstatement of the traditional parade route along the Lluís Albert promenade, running from Friday, February 13, to Monday, February 16.

One of the main novelties of the 2026 Carnival is the recovery of the traditional route for the floats and costume parade on Sunday morning, which will once again pass along the Lluís Albert promenade following its recent renovation. Additionally, the local group Els Joves will be responsible for delivering the Carnival proclamation this year.
The kickoff will be on Friday, February 13, with a welcome parade featuring the figure of Pop Pep, a festive element that had been lost in recent decades, accompanied by the Colla Gegantera de l'Escala.

L'Escala's Carnival is considered one of the most family-friendly in the Alt Empordà, featuring a program designed for all ages.

The schedule includes the grand Carnival parade on Sunday, February 15, at 11 a.m., with prior concentration at Can Parals, and the costume ball featuring the Orquestra Montecarlo. The festivities will conclude on Monday, February 16, with the traditional Burial of the Sardine on the beach, where the figure crafted by Els Joves will be burned.
