The Local Police of Llançà and the Guàrdia Urbana of Figueres successfully recovered three illegally occupied properties in the Alt Empordà region during the first half of March.

In Llançà, officers acted on two separate incidents on March 5 and March 8. During the second intervention on Fané Street, a 19-year-old man was arrested for trespassing in a secondary residence, with support from the Mossos d'Esquadra.
Meanwhile, in Figueres, a prompt neighbor alert on March 11 allowed police to stop a squatting attempt on Nou Street. Two individuals were identified and subsequently left the premises before establishing residency.
Mayor Jordi Masquef announced that a new anti-squatting office will open in 2026 to provide legal guidance and support to residents facing similar issues.
