Since this Sunday, Marina del Prat Vermell has a new photovoltaic pergola at Parc de les Tretze Roses. This 190 m² structure incorporates 80 solar panels and offers shaded areas in a zone with few trees. The investment for its construction amounted to 408,000 euros.
The installation, which arrives two years after the park's inauguration, has a capacity of 31.6 kWp and is expected to produce around 31,600 kWh annually. This energy production could cover the consumption of about fourteen homes and prevent the emission of approximately 11 tons of CO₂.
The City Council has managed the legalization of shared self-consumption through the grid. In this way, the energy benefits of the pergola will be allocated to the surrounding facilities: the neighborhood center El Polvorí, the Casal de Gent Gran el Polvorí, and the Casal de Barri la Vinya.
