Mobile alerts in Alt Empordà for winds exceeding 140 km/h

Civil Protection activates the ES-Alert system due to extreme wind and sea conditions expected this Sunday.

Civil Protection will send an ES-Alert emergency message this afternoon to mobile phones in Alt Empordà and surrounding areas due to forecasted winds reaching 140 km/h.

The weather event is scheduled to start at 7:00 AM on Sunday and is expected to last until 4:00 PM. The alert also covers Berguedà, Ripollès, and the northern half of Cerdanya.

Coastal areas in Alt Empordà and Baix Empordà are also on alert for dangerous sea conditions, with waves predicted to exceed four meters in height.
